Live stream: Pats host Cowboys in must-see Week 12 NFL matchup - NBCSports.com

The Dallas Cowboys will make a rare appearance at Gillette Stadium on Sunday to play the New England Patriots in the most anticipated game of the Week 12 slate.

This matchup will have a meaningful impact on the playoff races in both conferences.

The Patriots lead the AFC standings with a 9-1 record, but their margin for error is very slim. The Baltimore Ravens are just one game behind the defending Super Bowl champions for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, and they own the tiebreaker over the Pats as a result of their Week 9 head-to-head victory.

The Cowboys have a one-game lead atop the NFC East, and based on how the NFC playoff picture is shaping up, the division title appears to be Dallas' only hope for a postseason berth. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is playing the best football of his career right now, but he'll need to raise his game to an even higher level to leave Foxboro with a win because the Patriots own the league's No. 1 pass defense entering Week 12.

Will the Patriots extend their 20-game home win streak and keep hold of the top spot in the AFC, or will the Cowboys send a message to the rest of the league with a statement win on the road?

Here’s how and when to watch Patriots vs. Cowboys online. Be sure to also watch “Pregame Live” at 2:30 p.m. ET and “Postgame Live” at 7:30 p.m. ET, all on NBC Sports Boston. Michael Holley, Albert Breer, Tom E. Curran, Phil Perry, Ted Johnson, D.J. Bean and former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel will break down the game from every angle.

Rob Gronkowski caught 78 touchdown passes from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in his nine-year NFL career, but which score stands out the most in the legendary tight end's mind?

Gronkowski revealed Sunday morning on FOX Sports' NFL pregame show that his favorite touchdown catch from Brady came in a Week 8 game against the then-St. Louis Rams in London during the 2012 season. He ran a comeback route, hauled in the pass, and then unveiled one of the most iconic touchdown celebrations in league history -- the Buckingham Palace guard routine, complete with a Gronk spike.

Check out Gronkowski's description of the touchdown in the video below (fast forward to about the 1:00 mark):

The future Hall of Fame tight end has been plenty busy in retirement. He has partnered with a CBD company, he's now a regular contributor to FOX Sports' NFL coverage, and he recently announced a Super Bowl party in Miami.

Gronkowski hasn't definitively closed the door on coming back to the NFL, but after all the injuries and surgeries he went through, it makes sense for him to just enjoy life as much as possible.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is active for Sunday's Week 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys despite being on the Friday injury report with an elbow issue, but his receiving corps won't be at full strength.

Veteran wideout Phillip Dorsett is out with a concussion. He suffered the injury in New England's road win over the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Mohamed Sanu also won't play versus the Cowboys because of an ankle injury suffered against the Eagles in Week 11. These absences leave Brady with Julian Edelman, rookies N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers, and special teams ace Matthew Slater as the only wide receivers active.

Tight end Ryan Izzo also is inactive, which means we could see more of veteran Benjamin Watson in the passing game. The 38-year-old tight end tallied a season-high 52 receiving yards last week.

The Patriots secondary also will be without cornerback Jason McCourty. However, this unit will get back veteran safety Patrick Chung, who missed his third game of the season in Week 11.

The good news for the Patriots is on the offensive line, where Isaiah Wynn is back in the starting left tackle spot after returning from injured reserve. He hasn't played since Week 2.

There aren't any major injury concerns for the Cowboys.

Here are the official inactives for both teams.
