After a strong end to November that saw the Capitals go 6-2-2 in their last 10 games, Washington now looks to carry that momentum into December.
Sitting at the top of the Metropolitan Division, Washington will now head to the west coast for a three-game road trip. First up is the San Jose Sharks, a team also clicking as of late.
The Sharks were 8-2-0 in their last 10 in November and continue to gain ground in the Western Conference. Two hot teams, only one will come out with the win. Here's everything you need to know about the matchup.

CAPITALS-SHARKS PLAYERS TO WATCH:
John Carlson, D, Capitals (8-29-37)
After a record-breaking October saw Carlson rack up points like it was nothing, the veteran cooled off a little in November. However, he's still been an important part of Washington's success this season, leading the team with 37 points. If Carlson is getting involved, it's a good sign for the Capitals.
Alex Ovechkin, LW, Capitals (20-11-31)
It may sound obvious, but if Ovi is one the ice, you better be keeping an eye on him. The long-time face of the Capitals is coming off a solid game to close out November. In a win over the Red Wings, he netted a hat trick to help Washington cruise to a victory, though two of those goals came as a result of an empty net. Either way, if he does that again on Tuesday, the Capitals should be in good shape.
Logan Couture, C, Sharks (8-20-28)
The leading point-scorer for San Jose, Couture is coming off of a two-goal performance in a win over the Coyotes.
