Worn & Wound’s WindUp Watch Shop retails watches from awesome microbrands as well as cool collaboration pieces they’ve made in conjunction with various boutique watch companies. Their latest project may also be one of their best: entries in the Century Series from Vero Watches, the new Peak and Granite Limited Editions are beautiful 38mm field watches with titanium cases produced in-house by Vero in the U.S.A.
The new LE follows hot on the heels of last year’s 36 Auto LE, also a limited edition made with the Portland-based company. This time, the dials feature a 3-ring outer minute/second track design on either a white or dark grey dial. The Peak with its white dial features blued alpha hands, while the grey Granite utilizes a more modern-looking handset filled with Super-LumiNova.
Each model has a different case finish, that of the Peak being hand-finished with a more polished look, while that of the Granite is matte-blasted and then oxidized in a chemical bath in a finish reminiscent of the “parkerized” cases on steel military watches from the mid-20th century. Both cases feature sapphire crystals with AR coating and 20mm lug widths, and ship with quality Worn & Wound straps (a Stone Model 2 Premium for the Peak, and a Peanut Model 2 Premium for the Granite).
Both models feature the Sellita SW200 automatic movement, regulated in-house by Vero to six positions with +/-5 seconds a day accuracy. Each is limited to 30 pieces and features an individual serial number on the case back, and both are available now from the Wind Up Watch Shop for $1,120.
